some van documentation

i had to bribe van with a gummy rat from dollar tree to take these pictures, so they are fabricated, but i don't usually have my camera around when he does it for reals and i wanted to remember this...

when van gets mad, like if i tell him he can't do something or he gets in trouble and gets mad at himself, he folds his arms and does the quick "hmmph" sound with the mad face.
he does it so often that it's really quite comical, so we took it to the next level and made a big joke out of it (partly to show him how ridiculous it is to get so mad at little things, and partly because the reaction we get out of him is hilarious!).
so when he folds his arms and gets mad, we say this..."oh van, what a good idea to say a prayer to help you not be so mad" or  "wow van, you sure like to pray a lot, good for you buddy!" or "oh van's praying again, let's all join in!"

so then the "mad" face turns into the "mad/trying not to smile" face like you see here (this is actually pretty true to real life), and he usually ends up laughing after fighting it for a while. (sometimes the "pig squeal" emerges as he's trying not to smile)

next we have the "howdy partner" knee slap. he'll get really mad and stomp his foot and hit his knee...

with a slapping motion like this, to which i'll respond in my best southern drawl voice- "howdy partner!, cowboy van's back in town!" (or something to the liking)

then we'll get this face again, and none of us can stop laughing.
