reunion tower (almost)

so we had this great idea to take eduardo (cousin from brazil) to see the "reunion tower" downtown (johnny & paula and co. came too). we thought it would be cool to take him there since it's one of the famous landmarks here in dallas. it's 560 feet high, and part of the hyatt hotel. you take an elevator up to this huge ball surrounded by lights, and look down over the entire city, and there's even a restaurant at the top that rotates around...it's very cool.we timed it so we got there just before dark, so we could see it in the daylight, and then be up in the tower at night to look over the city.
we were getting all excited. the kids played around in the lobby of the hyatt, and we rode a glass elevator to the top floor of the hotel. we were getting the kids all excited and telling them how cool it was going to be to be able to see the whole city when we got up there. then we went and found the elevator to take us to the top of the tower...and they tell us it's closed for construction. dang. we were pretty bummed.
well this is the view we would have seen from the top. i got it off the website. we felt bad that eduardo wasn't able to see it (he went back to brazil yesterday).
so we ended up at "La Madeleine" for chocolate cake and had a good time anyway. we'll try again another day...
