sheath, shaft...whatever

van and i went to the thrift store today. there's nothing better than a good thrift store...one person's trash is another person's treasure.
so as i was randomly walking around looking for something to pop out at me, we passed by the toy section and van picked up a cool sword with a little holder that attaches to his belt. he was way excited, taking the sword in and out of the little holder pretending like he was fighting bad guys. it was only a buck so i told him if he did a chore for me when we got home, he could have it. so when fredgie got home from work, i told van to go show him his new sword and how it goes in and out of the shaft real good. fredgie whips his head around and starts busting up at me- "you mean sheath?" he says. i started to argue, but then realized he was right. we both started laughing hysterically (sorry if you don't find this funny, but we're like beavis and butthead when it comes to things like this). he was mostly excited that he was right about this one. he'll disagree, but i usually spank him when it comes to correct word usage and pronunciation feuds.
so my whole point for this post is to tell you that i love thrift stores (even though i didn't find a treasure this time), and van got a cool sword for a dollar...sheath and all:)
